Ministries
- Spiritual Rejuvenation

Equally important to the physical renovation of the
church was the spiritual development of the parish community. One
of the signs of the vitality of the parish is its capacity of the
lay people to exercise the various ministries as rooted in the
Sacrament of Baptism. Each individual is endowed by God with
various talents and gifts and is drawn by the Holy Spirit to make
Christ known within and outside the parish community. It takes
conscious and reflective thinking to rediscover what service each
one is called to perform within our parish family. We cannot just
be worshippers on Sunday, we have to be followers of Jesus Christ
by working with and for Him on a daily basis. Consequently
various ministries were established at St .Joseph Basilica
including Evangelization, Eucharistic Ministers, Liturgy and
Music, Stewardship, Welcoming Committee, Religious Education,
RCIA, Youth Ministry, Lectors, Altar Servers, and the Bereavement
Committee. These ministries staffed with lay people are capable
and trained to assist the St. Joseph Basilica community in
various spiritual, cultural and social needs. The church of
tomorrow will depend more and more on the involvement of the
laity. The work of the Ministries and the dedication of their
members reflect the mission statement of Saint Joseph Basilica.
